Alexander Sammartino was born in Rhode Island and grew up in Arizona. He majored in philosophy and English at Syracuse University, which is also where he received his MFA. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and cat. His first novel, Last Acts, was a New York Times Editors’ Choice and was selected as one of the five best books of 2024 by Service 95. It is available from Scribner in the United States and Pushkin ONE in the United Kingdom. His next novel, Gallo, is forthcoming from Scribner.
